Kraft Paper or Ziplock? How to Choose Eco-Friendly Packaging
"Eco-friendly" is a packaging buzzword, but kraft paper bags and plastic ziplock bags are not a simple either/or — it depends on how you use them.
The strengths of kraft paper bags
Renewable raw material, a natural look and excellent printability make them ideal for coffee, bakery and gifts. The trade-off is limited moisture resistance, so they are not suited to food that contacts water vapor for long periods.
The strengths of ziplock / OPP, PE bags
Moisture and dust resistance plus repeated resealing, and the clear material shows the contents directly — an efficient choice for portioning and small e-commerce items. If biodegradability matters, choose PLA or biodegradable PE versions.
How to balance
- Prioritize texture and brand: kraft paper bags
- Prioritize freshness and display: ziplock bags
- Want an "eco look plus function": kraft paper with a biodegradable film liner
